Grandma, got run over by a race car.
She was looking for a rest room
When she ran out on the track.
Grandma, got run over by a race car.
She was taken from the race
With a smileon her face
And Goodyear on her back.
I took my dear old Grandma to the track last May
In the infield we were having lots of fun.
When I reached into my cooler and I pulled out a beer
And Grandma said "Hey, you mind if I have one?"
Now I'd never seen Grandma take a drink before
But I smiled as I watched her take a sip.
When Grandma tried to smile back
Her teeth came flying out.

Seems that cold beer loosened Grandma's Poligrip.
Then Grandma chugged that cold beer down
And let out with a belch
I'd never seen her act like that before.
Then she let out a rebel yell

And Grandma's face turned blue
Bluer than the wig she always wore.
Then Grandma grabbed another beer
And said "I'll be right back,
I'm gonna wash my shawl out in the john."
Then I saw a cloud of dust and Grandma disappeared.
And the next thing that I knew Grandma was gone.
Grandma, got run over by a race car.
She was looking for a rest room
When she ran out on the track.
Grandma, got run over by a race car.
She was taken from the race With a smileon her face
And Goodyear on her back.

"So long, Grandma. We buried you in your Sunday best.
But everyone said that you looked really tired. Tired, get it? Just skidding."

And next year she's comin' back.
